Following the Agreement on Cooperation between the General Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Mining and Industry, signed in January 2010 during the official visit of the President of Iran, the Center of the Earth was established.
Currently, the center employs 25 young professionals who have updated knowledge of geology.
In the Central Laboratory, the equipment called BLEG is installed for exploration of gold.
Additionally, employees of the General Department of Geology together with Iranian counterparts, studying medical geology of various regions of the Republic of Tajikistan, collected samples of soil, water and vegetation for laboratory research.
For further cooperation, a separate document between the two geological services was also signed to conduct joint exploration within two sheets with an area of 3200 km2.
